In this issue I’ll share my season of life, content I enjoyed recently, highlight some cool things friends are doing and share the feedback my grandma gave me on last month’s edition.
Seasons of Life: Full Winter Mode
Just like seasons in a year, we have seasons of life.
Right now, I’m in my winter season—dialing in goals, maybe overthinking a little, but staying open to what’s ahead. Like a bear waiting to shake off hibernation, I’m laying low, putting in the work, and setting big targets. Pull-up numbers, financial goals, even how many people reply to this email—I’m tracking it all and fired up for the year ahead.
What season are you in? Think, then thrive in it!
What’s Taking Up My Attention
This is one of my favorite biz/tech/ecom/US news podcasts featuring three guys with unique perspectives across the board. Two episodes a week with very practical and positive takes on trending topics in the US.
I actually have become such a big fan that I even joined their paid Discord - if you're genuinely passionate about content you enjoy, invest in it.
The Sibley Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America: Second Edition
I’ve officially entered my old man era by beginning a minor bird watching hobby. Sure there are all kinds of AI apps that can identify a bird for you, but this book is more art than book.
It’s got detailed drawings and write ups on topics like bird behaviors, appearance and where they live during certain seasons.
When it snows, birds can’t find their normal food as easily so feeders like ours are helpful. After seeing all kinds of crazy birds I scooped this at a bookstore (buying a book at a store… old AF!)
62 minutes of pure focus music. Perfect for writing newsletters like this one. Even if you're not into rap, the chill vibes work for anyone. (Side note: YouTube Premium is worth every penny if you're on there more than an hour weekly.).
Friends Crushing it This Month

The End
It’s been fun thinking ahead as to what I want to discuss in this email. Also a great way to stay in touch with people - “Hey I do a monthly newsletter with people I like working with, want me to add your email?” 100% of people said yes bc who’s gunna say no to your face right?
