Requiem‘s Volley for E
Though sadness is the cost
Be not our memories lost
Nor all your dreams be tossed
Age is not a number
Candles burn like lumber
Life is not to slumber
Noble Eric we do boast
Whom dear Lover loved the most
Raise your heart to him we toast
-----
If I could pray away all the family pain
I’d kneel all day til these knees are stained
If tears could water the Linden tree
I’d cry all night til my eyes can’t see
If a burnt candle brought another smile
I’d stack lumber in smoke for a country mile
If writing could give the Lovers another day
I’d type and type the day away
